Defeater - Lost Ground (2009)

Where to begin? This EP is 6 songs. They tell a story. Its about an African American veteran from WWII. The whole EP is written in the perspective of this man, and tells about his life. From fighting in a war, losing his friends, losing his mom at home, unemployment and racism, trainhopping, and ultimately becoming a homebum in NYC where he begs and busks for money. It is incredible to listen to this EP and read along. So I highly suggest reading these lyrics when you listen. Also, this is melodic hardcore for those who don't know. Even if you're not into the genre, I highly suggest checking this out because of the concept and lyrics.
